Data: 11.03.2019

GSG Towers has received an order from one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers for the supply of 14 complete, onshore wind towers. The order from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy worth more than EUR 5 million will be implemented as part of the 42 MW Wind Farm project at Barwice. The wind farm will consist of 14 turbines with a unit power of 3 MW. For GSG Towers, it is primarily the road leading to obtaining orders for the production of towers for offshore wind energy – where Siemens Games is the undisputed leader. Acquiring references for the cooperation with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the best form of the Company‘s accreditation, facilitating the commencement of cooperation with other leading turbine manufactureres for which it is particularly important that the company has competence in the field of supply of components for offshore farms wind offshore.

We are pleased to engage a strong local partner in Poland with the now agreed cooperation with GSG Towers. Poland is a strong location for wind power. The country has great potential in the further expansion of this sustainable energy source and at the same time an experienced and technologically mature wind industry. The cooperation with GSG Towers is therefore an important step for Siemens Gamesa to grow further together with our local partners – says Taam Momen, Head of Towers & Blades Procurement, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.

Positive signals regarding the development of offshore wind energy in Poland, with a potential of up to 8 GW of installed capacity by 2035, allow to perfectly match market expectations and gives GSG Towers a chance to act as an important element of the supply chain for projects implemented in Poland and the entire Baltic Sea.

Proven and relaible technology that ensures stable energy generation at competitive low cost, while using the latest technologies, makes wind energy one of the most important branches of the renewable energy sector, which is one of the key segments of the sister company Stocznia Gdańsk. The contract with Siemens Games, just like the recently signed order with Aker Solutions, confirms the good assessment of the technical capabilities and production capacity of the plant. As emphasized by customers, the location of the plant is particularly important, allowing the implementation of complete large-size constructions with full assembly and loading. Undoubtedly, the important factor was the change in the ownership structure, that now guarantees the financial security and stable policy of the Company for the best customers‘ interest.
