Baltic Operator with a new contract
Baltic Operator signed a contract with the Finnish shipyard Meyer Turku for the construction of two Offshore Platform Vessel (OPV) hulls. The units created will serve the Finnish Border Guard to patrol the coast.
Baltic Operator, a company from the Baltic Industrial Group, which owns the Gdańsk Shipyard, has signed a contract with the Meyer Turku shipyard for the construction of two partially equipped patrol units for the Finnish Border Guard.
The Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) will be 98 m long, 17.6 m wide and 5 m draft, and will patrol waters along Finland’s 4,600-kilometer irregular coastline, dotted with islets.
The first ship is to be ready in 2025 and the second in 2026. Baltic Operator, operating in the shipbuilding, wind energy and offshore sectors, is part of the Baltic Industrial Group, and the Gdańsk Shipyard is part of GPB.
It is worth mentioning that the company also supplies large-size passenger ferry blocks to the above-mentioned shipyard.
