SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:.
- Selecting basic and additional materials for welding
- preparation of elements and materials for welding in accordance with technical documentation
- performing welding operations using various techniques, using welding equipment
- Repairing welds, electro-air gouging
- Performing sheet metal welding with at least two types of processes (manual, semi-automatic, mechanized, automated)
- Performing measurement of welds
REQUIREMENTS:
- experience: minimum 2 years in welding steel structure elements/ship hulls
- current welder certificate(s) for making butt and fillet welds in Method 136 and/or welding equipment operator certificate(s)
- knowledge of welding technological instructions (WPS) and
- knowledge of the principles of identifying native materials used to produce steel structures/ship hulls
- knowledge of the phenomenon of welding deformations and methods of preventing them
- knowledge of how to deal with welds that do not meet the required level of quality/acceptance
- ability to read NDT reports
- qualifications of a crane/hook operator – signaller and a certificate of completion of an oxygen burner operating course are welcome
