SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:.

• Selecting basic and additional materials for welding
• preparation of elements and materials for welding in accordance with technical documentation
• performing welding operations using various techniques, using welding equipment
• Repairing welds, electro-air gouging
• Performing sheet metal welding with at least two types of processes (manual, semi-automatic, mechanized, automated)
• Performing measurement of welds

REQUIREMENTS:

• experience:  minimum 2 years in welding steel structure elements/ship hulls
• current welder certificate(s) for making butt and fillet welds in Method 136 and/or welding equipment operator certificate(s)
• knowledge of welding technological instructions (WPS) and
• knowledge of the principles of identifying native materials used to produce steel structures/ship hulls
• knowledge of the phenomenon of welding deformations and methods of preventing them
• knowledge of how to deal with welds that do not meet the required level of quality/acceptance
• ability to read NDT reports
• qualifications of a crane/hook operator – signaller and a certificate of completion of an oxygen burner operating course are welcome
